About

Jon grew up in a small village on the southern edge of Dartmoor, Devon. His work documents landscapes and the local community based within a documentary tradition, with an appreciation for nature and the natural world. 

He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Documentary Photography from University of South Wales on the renowned course founded by Magnum photographer David Hurn.

“I tell stories through photography as it allows a greater freedom of expression for me than words alone. People and their environments are endlessly fascinating, and it is my intention to create work that is neither judgmental nor exploitative. It is for the viewer to form their own opinions as to my success in this endeavour.” 

He is currently based in Bristol, UK and continues to work commercially as well as pursuing self-initiated projects.
